Week 2 of #WHHTI25 is in the books! We welcomed another inspiring group of educators to DC to explore the White House’s role in history & civic life. Thanks to our Education Team & all who help bring history to classrooms across the country.

The fact that I didn’t know these INCREDIBLE humans last week is baffling to me.I’m so proud to be part of this program. I know we are all about to bring @WhiteHouseHstry back to our classrooms and the friendships we have forged is the unexpected bonus I will continue to treasure
Day One of the White House History Teacher Institute has been so fun! I’ve learned so much (even as a ‘local’) I’ve met teachers from all over the US. Looking forward to bringing back some great ideas/resources to FCCPS! @WhiteHouseHstry
@SeanOBrienBooks Some of my 2nd graders are gearing up to start a novel study on your amazing books! We would love to chat with you at the end of the study if you ever are in the Falls Church area =]
I’ve read The Story of Ruby Bridges countless times over the years, but I am THRILLED that next year I’ll get to read her story in her own words! What a happy find! Beating the heat today by going to the bookstore and reading! What about you Team FCCPS!?
Okay… but is there a better feeling in the world than going to a meeting then getting a chance to see your former students conducting investigations/ generally thriving at @os_tigers !? My teacher heart is so full!
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for these amazing children who come to school with a love of learning, energy to keep us engaged, and willingness to find fun along our journey together!
My favorite 1st day tradition/surprise is set. This year, one new student has letters from their own siblings dating back to 2019 🥲 I LOVE seeing the smiles of surprise first thing …so parents let’s keep this between us until they come home to tell you Monday! #belonging
I can’t believe it has been a month since our wax museum! I LOVED filling the room with family members & seeing the team take their moment to shine & share. It’s always bittersweet stepping back so students can step forward on their own. Oak Street prepped & ready! #proudteacher
