Exploring "long a" and "silent e" during small group reading. I've been teaching the students to try the short & long vowel sounds when sounding out words. The goal is to listen to see if the word makes sense. Real word or a nonsense word? Does it fit the picture/sentence? π€
Just brain breaking before testing. Cosmic Kids Yoga! They love it! My goal was to get their brains activated toward increasing their ability to think and focus while testing... very imperative for students who struggle with impulse regulation. π
I am that teacher who teaches her students that their fingers are a fundamental resource when it comes to math. I enjoy teaching students ways to help themselves do math. Knowing the answer is great but critical thinking & using basic tools to find the answer is just as great! π
Just two friends solving a word problem together. I love creating word problems using the students as the "who/naming part" in the problem. These two sunshines collaborated to illustrate & solve a word problem involving themselves. They talked it out, then worked it out! β€οΈ

Working on our "How to Build a Snowman" process board & display for the hall. I'm a firm believer that students' art should always represent the individualized creativity of each student. It's not authentic creativity if it all looks the same. Embracing artistic diversity. βοΈβοΈπ
