Senior Spotlight: Francesca from Palm Beach Central High School
At Palm Beach Central, Francesca is being recognized for her achievements in the Culinary Academy, as well as her academics. She will be attending Yale University next year and plans to study chemical engineering. Francesca says the teachers and staff at Central have given her so much great advice over the years that has really helped her navigate high school and prepare for her future. Congrats, Francesca!

March is Music in our Schools Month. It's the perfect time for Superintendent Mike Burke to go back to basics, as he steps into the role of a student in Highland Elementary School's Music Education program.
Watch to see how this hands-on experience in the arts puts students on the fast track to success, by providing specialized training, creative expression, and real-world performance experience. From learning rhythm to mastering melody, Highland Elementary is hitting all the right notes for our future performers!

Black History Month is a time to honor the legacy, resilience, and brilliance of Black leaders past and present. We celebrate history every day, not just this month.
During the January 21 School Board meeting, the Board recognized the student, staff, and school winners of the Recycle Right Mania Contest, sponsored by Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful and the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, in partnership with the District's Environmental and Conservation Services Department. Recycle Mania participants had to collect and recycle as many bottles and cans as possible during their home football games.
Palm Beach Central High won first place and earned $1,500 from Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful for recycling 555 pounds, with a waste diversion rate of 91%.
John I. Leonard High School earned $1,000 and second place for recycling nearly 90 pounds, with a waste diversion rate of 62%.
Suncoast Community High School earned $500 and third place for recycling nearly 60 pounds, with a waste diversion rate of 34%.
