#designthinking is a cycle of exploring every approach to solve a problem then choosing the best to launch, then analyzing to decide how to do it better and trying again. @Jill_Snell81
@SamanthaLRob22@amylmcginn Sam- I like that you mention tutors. I started tutoring a student and I wish I could see her work so I could ensure that I am planning for her appropriate level. A benefit would be if the data could be shared as needed. #slowfry
@amylmcginn A5: (cont) A drawback would for Ss who are not good at testing. Many algorithms we currently used are based on test scores and if test anxiety translates to low scores, this would create a poor representation of how successful the student is. #slowfry#ET690
@amylmcginn A5: A benefit would be a definitive way to track and measure student progress. Each student is given a number and that could be used to place them in appropriate classes or levels. #slowfry#ET690
@Mrs_Jefferson_@amylmcginn I like your connection to the classroom. We have a couple teachers who are 100% on one drive and with the chance of no devices in the new budget is concerning them #slowfry
@AmandaB2885@amylmcginn I agree that all medical records and DNA should be entered for police use. Their data base needs to include everything possible. #slowfry
@g_antalffyBCPS @amylmcginn@Google@YTCreators I am always surprised that my students don’t do this more. They always ask me instead when they could just google it instead! I feel like I end up googling it for them. #slowfry
@amylmcginn A4: in my classroom I have definitely seen a decrease in ability when it comes to handwriting and computations. Students need spell check and calculators for everything! #slowfry
@MissKazin @MsJacobsClass @amylmcginn I am curious if charging for the information would even put a dent in what the companies that benefit from the info. Would needing to pay stop companies from getting the info? #slowfry
@amylmcginn A3: it seems like we all have the same idea that insurance companies would most benefit from this information. I also think med research would benefit from it. #slowfry
@amylmcginn A2: I wouldn’t mind my records being released because I have nothing to be concerned about. But the idea of insurance using your history to determine coverage concerns me. While it would be great for research, how do we know that is all it is being used for. #slowfry
A1: A specific would be preferable when a certain medication is being advertised. Using an algorithm to find who has that illness/disease and only advertising to those people. #slowfry#ET690
