Mr. Poole’s Grade 5 friends used Google Drawings today to create portraits of notable FNMI Canadian figures. Impressed by their hard work and passion. Thanks to @misscini1 for the inspiration! #SloaneLLC
Kindergarten A and our Grade 3 buddies @sumreenkhan33 visited @torontolibrary’s Victoria Village branch to see @Author_YTM share her stories and passion for the written word. My favourite part was the dance party at the end of reading, “My Soca Birthday Party”.
So many things to highlight in the #SloaneLLC for March. Let’s start with this display for Greek Heritage Month. We’ve had so many requests for Greek language and cultural books this year that it was great highlighting some newer titles.
Junior Librarians invited Ms. Chattergoon and Ms. Dew’s Grade One friends to our #SloaneLLC Lunch Library Club. Students explored word games, reading activities, and Blue-Bot coding. So proud of our Grade 5 leaders!
Our last build day in the #SloaneLLC with @GoldbergTeacher’s Kindergarten Engineers. How could they help Iggy’s class get off the island? Many created bridges from recyclable materials.
@GoldbergTeacher’s Kindergarten friends explored TVOkids’ Bridge Works Game as a wrap up to our Bridges Engineering inquiry. Students tried to create bridges out of pasta to help a car go over a gap.
So lucky that I got to visit @MsCheema_TDSB and the amazing students and staff at @HBKidsHospital. So much inspiration and so much creativity in one small school and LLC. We made “cloud dough” and did sink and float experiments.
Junior Librarians organized and hosted Ms. Masood’s Gr 1s for a “Library Lunch Club” featuring different literacy activities like coding Blue-Bot to different words, reading with Junior Librarians, and word game fun. So proud of their leadership and creativity. #SloaneLLC
Kindergarten explored the @OntScienceCtr on Thursday with the rest of the @SloanePS_TDSB Kindergarten classes @GoldbergTeacher@cruiz20132018. Favourites were KidSpark, Space, and Rainforest areas. Thanks to all our volunteers for making it a success!
Today in Kindergarten A, we explored pan scales. This one was a great real world math talk - why are the two bingo dabbers not equal in weight? Loved hearing students share their hypotheses.
@cruiz20132018’s Kindergaten B friends visited the #SloaneLLC to celebrate the 100th Day of School and Valentine’s Day. Here are some of the things they built with sets of 100 items.
@GoldbergTeacher’s Kindergarten C friends visited the LLC today to celebrate the 100th Day of School and Valentine’s Day rotations. What might you build with these 100 things?
Kindergarten A celebrated the 100th Day of School and Valentine’s Day with rotations with all 4 kindie teachers hosting fun centres in each class. It was lovely to see all our kindie friends today. We are 100 Days Smarter!
Sloane PS was honoured to welcome @tribvisdance Tribal Vision Dance and their “Visions of Turtle Island” performance today. Students were enraptured by hosts Naomi and Derek. Thank you for sharing your stories and passion.
Kindergarten A discussed all the things to do with the 100th day of school. Can’t wait to celebrate next week with crowns and fun kindie rotations with all three classes.
Building day for @GoldbergTeacher’s Kindergarten C has arrived. These engineering teams used their blueprints to start building bridges to save Iggy’s class. Can’t wait to see the final results. #SloaneLLC@SloanePS_TDSB
Collaboration continues in the #SloaneLLC with Ms. Kobric’s Grade 3/4 and @cruiz20132018’s Kindergarten B learning buddies. Their bridges are truly coming along after exploring cardboard attachments and types of bridges.
