#TVDSB is pleased to participate in the 2022 Pride London Festival and Parade! Students and staff are invited to join us on July 24 to decorate our float and participate in the parade. Decorating will take place in the Western Fair parking lot at 11 am. See you there!
It's a great day to soak up some sun and get a little reading in! I highly recommend this book if you're looking to support student regulation even more within the classroom.
Stuffies picnic! We waited for the perfect weather, and today delivered. What a great way to eat lunch on the last Monday of school ❤️ @ThamesfordPS@TVDSB
Boys like blue, and girls like pink... EXCEPT WHEN THEY DON'T! In Grade 2/3 we are challenging gender norms and encouraging everyone to be themselves. @TVDSBEquity@TVDSB@ThamesfordPS
We were SO excited to get our penpal letters today, all the way from Georgia. Ss couldn't wait to sit and read what their friends had written to them this time. We're learning so much about what it's like to live in Georgia, and teaching them about Ontario. @TVDSB@ThamesfordPS
How do we know it's spring? When we can get back outside to learn! Signs of spring we observed: puddles, leaves budding, flowers, sun/warmth, wildlife and mud! @ThamesfordPS
Today a student asked me, "Mrs. Cowan, do you know why I'm even colouring the boarder on my work?" Her answer? "To make your teacher heart happy." 🥰 My teacher heart may have MELTED. @ThamesfordPS we have the best students at TPS.
Student-made anchor charts (jigsaw activity)! Ss developing teamwork/problem solving skills, & research skills while creating science resources for their own classroom - my favourite. @ThamesfordPS
The creativity was flowing today during gr.4/5 music🎵 Ss used an online keyboard to come up with songs using the C major scale, then practiced writing the notes on a staff. @ThamesfordPS
With Black History Month coming to an end, I wanted to share the amazing work the 2/3 Ss did on their artist studies! I'm blown away by the effort and perseverance that went in to every piece of art. I'm one proud teacher! @ThamesfordPS
Today's artist study was on Kehinde Wiley! Ss learned about realism paintings, and how to draw a portrait! So many great observations came from looking at his beautiful art. @ThamesfordPS#BlackHistoryMonth
This month we are spending our art periods learning about Black artists! Ss absolutely loved learning about Alma Thomas and creating colourful mosaics inspired by her work. @ThamesfordPS#BlackHistoryMonth
We got our first penpal letters from Georgia today! I am SO excited to surprise the kids on Monday. Just in time for our letter writing unit 😍 @ThamesfordPS
