Contrast Ontario teachers' salary raises between 2012 and 2026 and those of MPPs and the Premier.
MPP Base Salary: Rose from $116,550 in 2012 to $163,959 by 2026, representing a 40.7% increase. Premier's Salary: Rose from $209,272 in 2012 to $293,978 by 2026, representing a 40.3% increase.
You can come to school any day of the week @PaulCalandra Would love for you to shadow an EA while we support students with extremely complex needs #OntEd is in crisis rn
Paul Calandra is cutting $4.7 million from PDSB's special education. This funding cut is devastating. Here we are this time last year outlining the problems with the funding formula. We have been calling for proper support. Instead he took over our board. #onted#onpoli
Today at the Education World Forum, I joined education leaders from around the world to discuss how
learning beyond the classroom helps prepare students for the future.
Non-formal education plays an important role in helping students build confidence, strengthen their
communities and develop real world skills. Ontario is proud to be part of this global conversation as we continue working to support student success in school and beyond.
Instead of these ridiculous photo ops, why don’t you visit a classroom while an evacuation is taking place, and then stay to help clean up?
Why don’t you visit a packed ER waiting room or a hallway filled with patients?
Then maybe you’d set some valuable priorities.
They were 20 mins into the meeting when SEAC members were notified that it wasn’t being live streamed or recorded while PDSB Tech staff were sitting there being paid to work! Shame on you @PaulCalandra
Livestreaming & recording the #SEAC meetings are the only way many parents can access meetings especially parents of children with high spec ed needs. This is a CRUEL move begging for a human rights challenge. It's a simple & inexpensive accommodation.
#onted#onpoli
PDSB SEAC meeting live stream cancelled without notice
Many parents of disabled students cannot attend in person due to
accessibility
caregiving
transportation barriers
Excluding virtual access excludes families
This is #ableism in #OntEd@PaulCalandra@fordnation
DO BETTER!
Hey Doug, your Education Minister shut down virtual access to SEAC meetings with no notice. He directed that these meetings not be recorded, and surprise! He started with the budget meeting.
Last year PDSB spec ed was underfunded by $45 million. Shuffle your Minister. #onted
They've allowed the Ontario Autism Program to crumble, deeply underfunded special education, and now they're taking away access to information about spec ed in ~40% of Ontario schools.
Why is this govt making it so hard for families of kids with exceptionalities?

Having one EA running between several nonverbal students with ASD who also need toileting/feeding support and randomly run away and out into the street is becoming the norm across Ontario.
Kids with unmet needs melting down is now the norm.
