Yesterday students started checking out some of the books in my classroom library. Reading for pleasure is a key component of our classes and has so many benefits, from helping us to unwind, build our knowledge, and develop empathy for characters experiencing things we aren’t.

Summer means being able to make a dent in my “to be read” stack. Kacen Callender’s King and the Dragonflies was a beautiful YA story about figuring out who you are, learning to live with the loss of a family member, & the struggles of peer groups. Definitely worth the read.
