As we dive into resources for virtual learning, I wanted to highlight an online resource for teachers that is awesome for learning math. @googlejamboard is an easy-to-use resource that allows teachers to show students the steps to math problems. Take some time to check it out!
During this time, be sure to check out McWane for fun science shorts! Also, look for Little Lab Live! Little Lab Live includes small science shorts for our littlest learners on Facebook and Instagram Live on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. They are super fun and creative!
The current learning conditions are not ideal for students and show teachers what not to do. This article states that a positive learning environment "shows true participation and engagement in learning." Check out this website!

Junior year is coming to an end and I wish I could say that I was excited about it. @SamfordEd and my wonderful friends have been missing from my life this semester. "Only surround yourself with people who lift you higher." Here's to senior year with these lovely people. #senior
As the semester ends, I remember learning from my awesome professors at @SamfordEd to "begin with the end in mind." I would like to think that I did that in my lessons for first grade at @MBElementary The end of the semester is almost here!
As I wrap up my unit, I am looking back on the Gifted Education Seminar by @pattiwood. I learned the importance of choice for gifted students and the use of a choice board. Here is mine for my unit and I cannot wait to make more for my students later on! #choice#gifted#unit
Looking back on old lesson plans that I taught at @MBElementary. My first graders were rockstars and super smart kids. They aced visual representations of surveys in math! I miss them and I hope they are doing well:) #firstgradeisthebest#math#learningoutcomes
@Ms_Jernigan@RayzorSierra@Miss_Cushing I did not know about the whiteboard feature! That’s really cool. I’ll have to check that out next time I use WebEx for my class.
@LearningwithMsJ@Miss_Cushing I agree! FlipGrid was so fun when we did it with our Pen Pals! It was precious and I cannot wait to do it with my students.
@Miss_Cushing I have really enjoyed using Zoom because you get to see everyone’s face! I prefer this over PowerPoint lectures due to the ability to interact with people.
In "Making Thinking Visible," they talked about the environment of a classroom. They asked a question that was interesting, so I am going to ask you. What would your classroom tell you when no one is there and it is just the layout? #mtv#empty#postitiveenvironment
I had the privilege of attending a Zoom professional development that discussed Strategies to Support Small Group and Independent Reading online. Inspired when she said that technology will not always go the way you want it to go, but just breathe. #breathe#pd#zoom
I have been learning about data-driven instruction a lot this week. It is important to be responsible with data by always looking at it and using other research to support it. Currently looking at my students' previous assessments! #itemanalysis#data#proud
About to have my last book club meeting with the book "Making Thinking Visible" and came across a quote that I wanted to share. "Allow yourself to make mistakes and to learn from your students." @_MissBinder_@MsGreene11@Miss_BurtonSU#mtv#mistakes
Today, I am going to share a little kindness because I miss these people very much. No Zoom meeting can replace any of you! I cannot wait until the fall:) #zoom#kindness
With school now being at home, it is important that students have access to books. So thankful we were able to lead our book swap with @MBElementary before online school! Shoutout to @missmoriak and @MsDymond_ for leading this opportunity! #bookswap#literacy#leadership
Currently thinking back to the movie "Paper Clips" and their encouragement towards students researching information they want to know about a topic. Let's see how this works in my upcoming unit! #research#progressiveera#unit#paperclips
Found this awesome article about having a positive environment for your students to learn and grow in! Made me think about what impact COVID-19 has on a student's current learning environment. https://t.co/OlAMJvkzfm
Shout out to our awesome teachers and everything they are doing for us! I miss all of them and I cannot wait to be back with them in the Fall! @SamfordEd
