White teachers: When we engage students in learning about racism, we must move, not at the pace of those most resistant to racial justice, but at the pace of the those most committed to and desperate for racial justice. Don't make this a conversation about celebrating diversity.
Can’t wait to read about how my very diverse district will do their part to combat racism, the achievement gap, and have more teachers trained on culturally responsive/relevant teaching. Just to name a few things that can be done for our black students...
Dear new followers:
Everything that I do - parenting, teaching, writing - is about dismantling white supremacy. I post stuff here. Sometimes. But know that Twitter ain't activism. Activism is what you do in your communities.

Does anyone know of companies that might donate digital coupons/gift cards as prizes to motivate students during this social distancing? Hungry Howies was great about coupons to use as incentives for students, just wondering if anyone might know anything off hand. TIA!
Don’t wait for your district to offer a training. Don’t wait for your school to “develop” you.
You’re a talented professional and can take ownership of your learning.
Take full advantage of what your school offers, but be a continuous learner.
Own your learning.
