Hey moots, I’ll be taking a step away from twitter for a bit. Ariana Grande is one of my favorite celebrities if-not. The constant hate she has been getting for her body is taking a toll on me (see below), and staying on here is doing me more harm than good
@AriGrandeStats Im someone who has been real skinny my entire life, but seeing how the public has talked about Ariana has made me self conscious about it. Today’s my 18th birthday and while it’s been terrific irl, being on here has been draining. Hoping she sees the fans’ love #weloveyouariana
when did people start treating restrictive eating disorders like a moral failing ? i wanna scream. why does no one have any empathy for those who suffer ? this recent discourse not only is vile and triggering but also a reflection of how people view anorexia as something you
internet culture would rather see ariana grande kill herself and say “told you so” than actually care for her mental health and wellbeing. stan twitter has weaponized moral purity as a way to justify cruelty. we can all acknowledge there is a problem here. a lot of the discourse around it has been more about clicks and engagement than actually hoping for the best. somewhere along the way, people stopped caring about the person and started caring more about being right.
seeing so many ignorant people compare ariana grande to karen carpenter.
karen actually passed after consuming large quantities of syrup of ipecac to induce vomiting. the rapid refeeding and weight gain during a recovery attempt in hospital added strain on her heart that made her susceptible to poisoning.
but of course, nobody is mentioning that because it doesn’t fit the narrative they are so desperately trying to paint.
the truth is, a lot of you are just reading things online from other clueless individuals and deciding you know the reality of what you’re talking about, when you don’t.
the other sad truth is none of you actually care about ariana, you’re just trying whatever you can to use the situation to bully, mock and harass her for engagement and for your own amusement.
alright. let’s say ariana came onto social media tomorrow and said, “you were all correct. i do infact have an eating disorder.” then what? what exactly do people think their job is after that? she’s a global celebrity, not someone’s fucking neighbour. she has family. friends. a management team. a record label. doctors. people who ACTUALLY know her. fans are consumers. they are observers. they are not her treatment team, and acting as though it’s the internet’s responsibility to diagnose and manage the health of a woman they’ve never met and know nothing about is absolutely absurd.
people keep acting as though posting “she looks like she’s dying” or “she’s way too skinny” is some noble act of awareness, but if she were genuinely suffering from an eating disorder, there’s a very real possibility that this kind of obsessive public scrutiny would be harmful rather than helpful. recovery from an eating disorder isn’t fuelled by millions of strangers analysing your body from every conceivable angle and in MOST cases, having your appearance constantly dissected becomes part of the disorder itself, reinforcing an unhealthy fixation on weight, shape, and external validation.
so please, enlighten me, what is actually being achieved by turning “is ariana grande too skinny?” into a weekly trending topic? IF the concern is sincere (and i really truly doubt it is), saying it once is enough. after that, it stops reading as concern and starts reading as malice. there is a difference between expressing concern and endlessly consuming someone’s body as a topic of entertainment. i am so fucking sick to death of strangers on the internet who are convinced they have both the authority and the obligation to comment on a woman’s body every single day. THIS IS NOT ADVOCACY.
I do hope to come back sooner than later! I’ll keep up the Martin analysis while I’m gone, as I’m finally back into him after a year. If you come across a cool artwork or something of him that’s newly posted while I’m gone, do not be afraid to send it my way! Love you all 🧡
I’ve retweeted a lot of tweets that talk about why the hate Ariana has been getting is downright wrong and horrible, and I’d appreciate it if you’d check some of them out for they explain things far better than I could
And for those who haven’t seen it yet, I’d appreciate it if you went and supported this art piece! This is like the only fanart that Martin and Jessika together are a sole focus in, and ignoring the gift and recency biases this is my favorite Martin OAT he’s so cute cute cuteee

Ariana Grande has heard more for her album and her physique, than Chris Brown for being an abuser, Nicki Minaj for being openly a maga, D4vd for being a murderer and Kanye West for being a n*zi
wait this genuinely makes me so so so sad. finally we had Ari feeling comfortable to make public appearances/ release music/ her art to the world and the fucking gp had to ruin EVERYTHING. i am genuinely so mad.
she’s tried to say it politely in 2023 explaining that ‘the current body you compare with 2019 was the unhealthiest version of her’ then in 2024 with ‘don’t comment on my body, do not reply’ then again, in 2024 wicked interview saying commenting on someone’s body is harmful & yet they NEVER FUCKING LISTEN. what will it take for them to just respectfully shut their mouths?? she’s a grown woman, i am sure she sees the comments online.
