Over the last 48 hours, two waves of large-scale attacks by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck across Ukraine, bringing loss and destruction.

More people were killed & injured in Ukraine in Jan-April 2026 than in the same period in any of the past 3 years.
In April 2026 alone: 238 killed, 1,404 injured.
So far in 2026: 815 killed, 4,174 injured (+21% vs 2025; +93% vs 2024 compared to the same period).
High civilian casualties continued in May.

Across🇺🇦, +70,000 displaced people live in collective sites, where UNHCR w/ partners provide support. Recently, UNHCR & @R2Protection visited these facilities in Cherkasy region to talk to residents, site managers & authorities about needs, living conditions & activities.
