STEAM Grade 7 - Windmill Design

The students recently presented their Windmill Design projects to their classmates, focusing on public speaking skills, fielding critiques and questions from their peers, and demonstrating the knowledge they acquired throughout this challenge.

SC 3-5 - Lego Design

The students had a blast building with our Lego kits! For the past 3 weeks, he was so focused on following the directions in the book to complete his build. This was a huge accomplishment…so proud!

Leprechaun Letter Hunt ☘️

In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, the students completed the Leprechaun Letter Hunt. They focused on letter recognition, teamwork, and following directions. It was an exciting day for them in the STEAM Lab!

STEAM Grade 7 - Windmill Design

The students have been hard at work constructing their windmills over the past several weeks. Their main focus has been building a wheel and axle that allows the blades of their windmill to move freely. (Easier said than done!)

STEAM Grade 7 - Windmill Design

Wind turbines harness energy from wind utilizing mechanical power to spin the windmill’s blades and create electricity. So cool!!!

The students are in the early stages of constructing their bridges. Their focus is on structure, stability, and following all of the criteria and constraints involved in this challenge.

The 5th grade students are in the early stages of building their elevators and pulley systems. This is their first long-term, big project in the STEAM program!

Ferris Wheel Demolition

It took us just over 9 hours to build and 5.5 hours to break down. Getting ready to rebuild with the 8th Grade during Marking Period 4…can’t wait!

Gifted and Talented Grade 5 - Collaborative Snowball Writing

The students are working collaboratively to create stories based on writing prompts. To trade papers and become the next writer on the story, they have a snowball fight. We worked hard and also had a little fun today!

SC 3-5 - Team Building

The Great Chain Race - The students were challenged to create the longest chain possible following certain criteria and constraints. Furthermore, they had to work together as a team, with each student taking on an important role for the group. Awesome job!
