@xwickedmindx @GodisDee @GhostinaGarage @laurie_guilbeau @FoucaultFanatic This explanation makes a lot of sense as to why they're not getting it, thank you.
@JDWales2@emilykmay This makes me sad. To think that they'd had to mask all that time to stay under the radar with him. Glad they are in a safe place where they can let their true selves show.
@DefendTheSheep 2/2 "But never behold it. Never gaze in awe and wonder over it. Never be vulnerable before it. Or intimate with it. Or be playful and bask or enter into the invitation of beauty."
@DefendTheSheep From the article: "These men could not recognize real beauty; they could only sexualize it. Try to consume it. Or else, cover it up, squash it down, silence it, infantilize it, exploit it, manage it as best they can." 1/2
@emilyeverafter2 @hcarolineking Go, Emillie! You can do this! Similar story, here. Homeschooled all the way through HS. I'm 46 and graduate with a BA in Education in 5 days. I'm still trying to grasp that *I did it!*
People who lack the ability to handle the fullness of who you are will try to flatten you to fit their narrative.
Refuse.
I cannot and will not be flattened for I will show up in the wholeness of who I am and the fullness of my humanity. Every time.
@KyleJamesHoward My respect grows more and more for how you express yourself and take the stands you do. Appreciate what you said in your reply to Wade. His response was inadequate. I believe you.
@Redleg_92@KyleJamesHoward@BeccaLindenbach "Hav[ing] to constantly turn his head" is a him problem, not a her problem. He controls whether or not he turns his head. Her clothing has zero control over his neck muscles.
"Why am I inclined to turn my head?" It's a question he may do well to ask himself.
