Friday’s Remembrance Day assembly was a fantastic tribute and way to honour and remember those who fought and cared so much. Class wreaths were laid and were beautiful. Huge thanks to Mr. Crouch, the band, and the Wildcat Pride members for a job well done!

What a great school community activity day! We had the Wildcat World Cup, where buddy classes played multiple games against other teams. Go Cheetahs! 🐆 After, we spent some time outside getting to know our Gr. 3 buddies more. Leapfrog, anyone? 🐸

This cohort hasn’t had a carpet since pre-Covid, which means they were still in primary! There were a few odd looks when I mentioned a carpet, but as soon as it arrived, everyone wanted to test it out! It’s a great addition to our classroom!

Today, students practiced converting decimals to fractions with a partner. They were challenged when asked for equivalent fractions and how the number related to money. All this on a Friday afternoon!

This week in math, we’ve been diving into decimals! We are figuring out ways to represent decimals and convert into fractions (and vice versa). We are also recognizing the importance of place value in our everyday math!

We have had some fantastic conversations around residential schools and why wearing orange is significant. We also spent a good amount of time today exploring and learning more about Indigenous culture. We hope these conversations continue to happen.

Today is #OrangeShirtDay. 🧡 We are wearing orange to honour Residential school survivors, those who did not survive, and their descendants. As mass graves continue to be uncovered, now more than ever it is important to show Indigenous communities our support. #EveryChildMatters

Today we began our study on biodiversity in science! We watched our friend Bill Nye and then recorded one thing we learned and one wondering we have. Let the investigating begin!

Almost forgot to share the wonderful teamwork, positivity and kindness shown at our Terry Fox Walk/Run last Friday! Our Wildcats were very excited to see our mascot make an appearance!

Today we visited our next door neighbours in 4A and helped show them some features of google classroom and slides. They even showed us a few tricks as they became the experts!

The students have been working hard to ensure all are aware that our classroom is a welcoming environment where kindness lives! We got them up just in time for our open house this week! It was great to see so many families who were able to join us!

6B had our first visit to the library this week! Unfortunately, the system is not quite ready for us to check out books to students yet, but we sure enjoyed being able to choose a book and a cozy spot while checking out some of our books! Thanks Mrs. Murray! 📖

We got pretty excited to open some group gifts this week! Little did they know the gifts were some of our books for our class library! We spent some time sorting them into genres and preparing our library shelves!
