This plane was a donation from former 5th grader Eleazar Centeno-Espindola! He was so excited to donate it to our glass showcase up front. Thank you for the thoughtful donation, Eleazar! #MJAkin#Aviators
If you teach American history and want to incorporate Black hero’s into your content. This book is a great place to start. It has short snippets of many Black soldiers and their heroic acts. See how I plan to use it in my classroom in the comments.
I plan to read the story of one soldier each day throughout our American Revolution unit. I am going to create an anchor chart with pictures of the Black soldiers and “highlights” of each hero’s story for my students to look back on as we go through the unit.
I am still in a shocked excitement after seeing this. @flippitynet just added a board game to its Flippity offerings! You can customize each square with text and images. There are also two card decks you can customize with links, images, desmos, EquatIO and more! 🤯
"The research in implicit bias is very clear: we don't treat everyone the same. This is especially critical for TEACHERS to understand." -Robin Deangelo -
Below are some resources for our students I found in just a 10 min search through twitter---> #edUnite#BlackLivesMatter

We’ve been spending time filming announcements during our zoom meetings since our kids aren’t able to take on that job. This response gave me chills! Teachers: please remember RELATIONSHIPS during this hard time!
