I’m Nancy, 62, living with Stage 5 kidney disease at 12% function. I need a home with electricity and water for 8-hour nightly dialysis before 10/1/2026. We’re 78% funded. Thank you for helping me stay housed. Donate through my GoFundMe page. #KidneyDisease https://t.co/iJWYW0fnnj
10/1/2026, 15 days. That's all I have left till I'm thrown out of here and they start legal paperwork. I still don't have a place to go to.
I need 8.5 hours of Safety and Privacy with electricity and running water. That's it.
But I can't even get into the “bad” apartments right now
i think I have someone to help me put my possessions into a storage locker.
A storage locker is private and safe. A storage locker has electricity... if I bring my own water... Could it work?

Nancy is facing Stage 5 kidney disease while trying to secure housing where she can safely perform peritoneal dialysis. Her kidneys work at 12%, and her treatment requires electricity, clean water, privacy, and 16 boxes of 30-lb supplies each month. We’ve raised over 60%, and I’m grateful to the 12 people who’ve helped. Please donate through the GoFundMe page to help Nancy find a HUD-accepting home and pay moving costs. #KidneyDisease #Dialysis https://t.co/OrB9FukPBH

I'm packing. It's probably be in a storage unit. Using plastic totes so nothing gets wet. Learned that lesson in 2005.
Don't know where I'll be on Sept 30th. But I've been told that if I'm not out of here on October 1st they are filing for eviction.
I'll have to give back my dialysis machine the last week if I don't have a stable place to stay.
How did it get this far?

Honesty. That is all I have left. I feel such shame and guilt to be here, like this.
I am begging for help.
In 24 days I will be thrown out of this apartment. I will lose everything in my life. I will have to give the dialysis machine back. I cant perform dialysis at a homeless shelter, and that's where I will be. I'm hoping that I can have internet access. I have never been to a shelter. So I don't actually know what it's like.
I suppose I did this to myself and I don't deserve help. But I'm not ready to die yet. That is what will happen without dialysis. It is called End Stage Kidney Disease for a reason. My kidneys are only working at 12% now. It won't take long.
Thank you for reading my story. If you can give to help, it would change my life.
Thank you.

Anyone have a car I can live in with a place to plug in my dialysis machine? Seriously

The city figured out a way to turn off my water today.
I've been applying for loans online and am turned down each time. I don't have enough coming in on Disability and my credit is only fair. No matter what I do I can't get in front of this situation.
Thay are trying to force me out earlier. But I have no where to go and not enough to do it.
Oh, tonight is dialysis. At least my neighbor volunteered her water. Than you Penny.
Can you at least send up a prayer for me. I'm not a bad person. Why is this happening to me???

Hi, I'm Nancy.
I've been disabled for many years. I have coped with it all the as best as I can. End Stage Kidney Disease, Bipolar 1, GAD - Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Fibromyalgia, Psoriatic Arthritis, Diabetes T2, Vertigo, and more miscellaneous diseases.
I call my life the "Medical Mystery Tour." I have been unable to work for a long time. Social Security Disability doesn't leave me with a lot to live on.
And now... I'm being kicked out of my apartment unfairly.
I have been living in a small farm town in East Central Missouri. There are only 1250 people here. I moved into the studio apartment on May 29, 2024. In Oct, 2025 there was confusion about who was paying the water/sewer bill. From move-in the landlord paid the water/sewer. The apartment house has 4 apartments but only 1 meter.
October of 2025 we all received notice that we were going to have to start paying our own water and sewer. Mind you there is still only 1 meter/shut-off. I thought that my HUD voucher was taking care of it. So I did nothing.
All of the sudden 4 weeks ago I get a shut-off notice. My 1st thought was are they turning everyone's water off? It's still only 1 shut-off for the building. They wanted $361 + $100 deposit or they were shutting off my water (how?)
Why did they wait 6 months to tell me that it wasn't being paid? My Landlord knows I'm disabled and on a very limited income. Then they started saying that I said I can't afford my water.
NO, that is not what I said. I can afford the monthly bill, things will just be tighter. I said that I can't afford $461. They wanted it spread over only 3 months. I can't do that either... unless I stop eating and buying toilet paper and detergent.
So then I get a letter from my landlord that says since I will be losing my HUD voucher, I have to vacate the premises by 10/7.
No, I have not lost my HUD. voucher. As far as the housing authority is concerned I have until September 30th to get it paid.
That doesn't matter to the landlord. They want me gone. Let's throw the disabled into the street.
One good thing happened... HUD told the landlord that they can't kick me out until 9/30.
The Thursday before Memorial Day this year (2026) I found out that I have End Stage Kidney Disease. That is Stage 5. My Kidneys are only working at 12% of their full capacity. My kidneys will never get better. The only choices are dialysis or transplant.
Dialysis only lasts so long, so a transplant is the only real thing that gives life.
I have actually been very sick since the 1st of the year. I didn't know that my kidneys were not functioning. Uric Acid built up in my bloodstream. I lost all of my taste and smell. My eyesight was blurry and my mind was extremely fuzzy. It kicked my Bilpolar 1, GAD, Fibromyalgia, and Psoriatic Arthritis into overdrive.
I was a mess with chronic pain worse than I had in years, my moods were uncontrolled, diarrhea/constipation/vomiting, my eyes have sunken and have dark circles and puffiness. Edema AKA water retention was horrible.
I was stuck in bed not knowing what was wrong with me and scared. I finally pulled myself out of the bed and went to my primary care physician for a checkup.
As soon as the labs were back I was sent to a Nephrologist (Kidney Specialist) at MU Health in Columbia, MO. 6 days later I was checked into the hospital.
When I found out my kidneys were failing I researched like a madwoman, NIH, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and the National Kidney Foundation. I learned that I didn't have to go sit in a chair for 4 hours at a time 3 days a week having my blood cleaned. There was a way I could do it myself, at home. It's called Peritoneal Dialysis.
I have a permanent catheter in my abdominal cavity. That's what the stay in the hospital was for. I was put on *urgent* status. After the surgery, 2 - 2.5 inch incisions, a laproscopic hole and the hole that the catheter comes out of. They curl a special tube with hundreds of
