Educators/Superintendents:
For my Growing Home Fellowship through the FAO, I am hoping to create intergenerational engagement by connecting local organizations serving elderly communities w/ youth 9-12.
Do you have programs that serve this purpose? Would you be open to this?
What a fun activity- using the 5Ws to determine author’s purpose (why) and perspective (who) while gauging student comprehension! Also featured is our 10th grade “quilt” modeled from the text “Quilt of a Country”- just like our country, our classroom is made up of unique people!
Students in American Lit had to support their prevalent themes with evidence! Who can make the biggest tower with evidence ?! Thx for the idea Ms. Neuhart! #CCP#English@NobleLocal_SD
I’ve used this activity before and continue to love it! This hands-on/visual activity may seem juvenile, but it allows students with these preferences to shine and make actual connections (that they then explain to me one-on-one). Let’s go Hawthorne and romantic literature!
Students diagramming story/plot structure in groups on the board today. Impressed by how well they are interacting with such an ancient text like Beowulf. The purple example is especially interesting-> talk about modern day translations of medieval literature!
I’m beyond excited for this new opportunity! A year ago, I never would have expected to be leaving what I considered my dream school. However, make plans and… well you know the rest. Beyond blessed to have this opportunity and realize new dreams at @MidEastDistrict
Such an amazing experience getting to witness the power of deep learning and project-based learning in the long term. After 50 years, students came together because of the amazing Jim Mahoney! As a new teacher, it was quite inspiring!
Great experience for Caldwell and Shenandoah interns today getting invited to meet @GovMikeDeWine !! Thank you so much to you and your team! @Caldwell_supt @NobleLocal_SD@bb2careers
The BBB (Big Burger Blowout) was a success! Students were asked to partake in a PBL that addressed an area for improvement at our school. They chose to focus on rewarding their peers. After interviewing personnel, researching, and making measurable goals, they made it happen!
