I’m getting royally irritated with the hyperbolic language being used to talk about kids and learning coming from folks like @halfon4harlowMP . Today I had to film an assembly picking up the pieces of what this downright dangerous behaviour is doing to our children. Stop. Enough.
I have a message for all the little girls and boys out there who dream of growing up to be superheroes: Superheroes walk among us.
They’re teachers, doctors, scientists, vaccine researchers—and you can grow up to be like them too.
Is anyone else having trouble accessing the @WhiteRoseMaths videos at school? As they're Vimeo they're blocked and ICT won't unblock them. Any easy solutions out there?? Thank you!
@Jonesy_K8 I record over ActiveInspire and slowly increase the challenge (specifically for maths) I do loads of practical examples just like we do in school. I teach year 2
If that other teacher on Twitter is doing live lessons and you’re not, fine.
If they’re doing pre-records and you’re not, fine.
If they’re reading three different stories and you’re not, fine.
We’re each doing our best and all we can for ours kids. Don’t compare yourself.
TEACHERS! Wonderful, gorgeous teachers! Just reiterating that yes! You are DEFINITELY permitted to read/use any of my book babies for our little ones. @HachetteSchools guidelines are below to help you do it without losing any more precious sleep... 🤗💕

Wonderful. Ofsted trending on Twitter as @GavinWilliamson's foul attempt to get parents to dob in their schools for not working well enough in online learning, backfires spectacularly, with parents snowing under @Ofstednews with praise for schools.
Just wonderful. TY parents!👍
It's "nothing short of disgraceful" that @GavinWilliamson chose today to "threaten" schools on remote learning, according to @PaulWhiteman6 https://t.co/tnLMkTIM7U
Hearing about remote practices i worry people are trying to do too much, perhaps proving how they have improved since the Summer. You can't do it all and certainly not in a day. Balance needed for the students too. Quality not quantity
BREAKING BBC:
"The BBC is to deliver the biggest education offer in its history across more of its platforms."
From Monday January 11th, CBBC channel will feature three-hours of primary school shows to ensure that all kids can watch programming if they don't have the internet.
@missvlbishop I used @padlet for the children to share their ideas. Then the next lesson I would use their ideas to model the piece of writing. They were encouraged to magpie. Also when I recorded I would say Pause the vid now to write your own sentence about ...
Starting Mon 11th Jan I’ll be delivering live English lessons at 9:45am (GMT) on YouTube. Please spread the word to let as many parents and teachers know.

Well that’s progress. Happy to hear the Prime Minister reference free school meal extension during lockdown. Should never be in question. Let’s all stay safe and check in on each other often.
Boris Johnson, yesterday: “I am absolutely sure schools are safe.”
Boris Johnson, this evening: “Schools are vectors of transmission.”
The science didn’t change overnight.
This government has shown nothing but cruelty & contempt for school staff, parents, students & unions.
@Y6MissHobson@miss_y3 You can get a free educator account where you can have unlimited recording times. I just had to link to my school's website and it was approved immediately!
@MissWallerY3 My friend’s husband developed an extremely high fever that lasted 5 days 9 days after testing positive. He only had a sore throat for the first 9 days then took a turn for the worse. He’s much better now.
