It was an egg-citing day at MoES as buddy classes worked on a egg drop challenge! We ended the day watching these awesome creations fly off the roof! The best part was seeing so many friendships developing! Way to go Gators! 🐊
So I simply cannot wait any longer to show off our students’ Adopt-a-Shelves!!! Some are still in progress, but the ones who have created their mini book displays completely by their own design have knocked it out of the park! Photos of individual shelves in 🧵
This is ideal for task design in reading or writing lessons 📝 Tried it out with the opening of The Island at the End of Everything - it automatically generates a great selection of vocab activities, has word level analysis… I could play around with it for ages!
We are brain 🧠 changers "with our instructional choices" as Judi Dodson said. Orthographic mapping is the process "the formation of letter-sound connections to bond the spellings, pronunciations & meanings of specific words in memory." @ReadingRockets This is a great activity!

Why should teachers attend an event where they learn about cognitive science?
It can make their jobs easier--& they didn't learn this stuff in ed school.
