@ashbash_195 @Kayla_Gentry_ Could it be more of a fantasy to distract him from his own dissatisfying relationship? #IoM

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

Remember, symbols represent something beyond itself. The monkeys literally harm Bobby as a direct result of Mrs. Das' carelessness #IoM

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@Kayla_Gentry_ @JordanSteward13 Right. Bobby being attacked by the monkeys is a direct result of Mrs. Das' carelessness.

@JacobLaVoieLNC Have to wonder why she treats him like a therapist. He interprets physical maladies, she expects him to absolve her of guilt

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@Sbiedermann2 @SavannahBost I think this also shows how tenuous their connection really was. #IoM

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@Lauren_Taneil Bobby is the victim of Mrs. Das' infidelity? Just trying to understand your thoughts. 😃

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@noiseylloyd4 Remember, symbols stand for something beyond themselves. Her nail polish literally distracts her and keeps her disengaged.

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@JordanSteward13 How so? I agree that the marriages represent a clash, but not necessarily in loyalty. #IoM

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@Lauren_Taneil How do you see them as representing karma? Who is on the receiving end of the monkey's aggression?

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@LuathUidhe @KilpatrickNya Right, & Mrs. Das does nothing but scream at Mr. Kapasi to do something. Plus, she provoked monkeys w/food! #IoM

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@Garret_Mitchell yes! He tries to create a familial harmony that doesn't exist through the camera lens. #IoM

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@LNCharter_Dalp Why is Mr. Kapasi nice? Can you think of any other descriptive words?

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

@KilpatrickNya You can answer 1 or all of my questions, but you need to respond to/have a conversation with your peers.

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

Discuss symbols present in the Lahiri story #IoM.

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

How would you characterize Mrs. Das? What about Mr. Kapasi? #IoM

[Jennifer Maskell @MsMaskellLNC]

Mr. & Mrs. Das are American Indian, & Mr. Kapasi is Indian. What are some culture clashes you see in #IoM?
