Last year suicides in North Lanarkshire increased by 45%. @chrisclements and I grew up in Wishaw. We filmed there and in Motherwell for our @BBCDisclosure film this week, with families, football teams and people on the frontline of suicide prevention.
Congratulations to our public speaking team who won the MacKinnon Cup for Debating last week. In the final, teams were faced with an unseen motion -“This house believes there should be a cap on the number of flights an individual can take each year to reduce carbon emissions”
Well done to all of the S3 pupils who participated in the Climate Change IDL on Thursday and Friday. It was brilliant hearing about their innovative ideas to combat climate change and interest in the environment 🌎 @MsMcKay_mods@Dumbarton_Acad
A huge well done to all the debaters in the MacKinnon Cup. You all did fantastic! A special well done and congratulations to the winners @OLSPHigh and our own best speaker Euan from @Dumbarton_Acad. It was a fantastic day!
'If anybody cares about homelessness if they care about people in this country or indeed worldwide this is the moment.'
Dame Louise Casey and Josh tell @angellicabell on how they're striving to create a moment of global solidarity.
Best of luck to all the Higher and N5 Mods students sitting their exams tomorrow. You know the stuff, just try to stay calm and focused. Get a decent sleep! Highers can come and see me from 8 for any last minute reassurance. There might even be a wee cup of tea for you! ☕️
Good luck to all the S6 Higher Mods lot. You’re a lovely bunch and have helped make my first year @Dumbarton_Acad a pleasure. See you bright and early on the 1st may! You can do it!!!!
Congratulations to @BBCScotland, winner of the Nations and Regions Current Affairs award for the “standout investigation” of allegations of physical abuse at a children’s home in Disclosure – Suffer the Children #RTSAwards
@Dumbarton_Acad pupils did the school proud today at the Scottish Parliament asking our local MSP Jackie Bailie some challenging and thought provoking questions about brexit, compulsory voting and local issues. Thanks to @ScotParl and @jackiebmsp. We had a great visit!
In N5 Modern Studies today a pupil was using a C-pen to read the sources. It is such an excellent tool to help many more pupils access learning! You highlight the text and it reads it back to you through headphones or out loud! @mhs_humanities
Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal has been rejected by 230 votes - the largest defeat for a sitting government in history.

@jtay71 @wmtucker @itvnews Norway has had a free national health service since 1958. All asylum seekers are entitled to healthcare in Norway from when they first claim asylum. I have no idea where this notion comes from that the UK is the only country with a national health service.
