Grade 3s are working on creating an original video game character and coding a song that matches the personality of their character using Beepbox! @StLukeOttawa#ocsb ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฎ
The Grade 3s @StLukeOttawa have been learning about data. Theyโve been sorting using Venn and Carroll diagrams and conducting their own surveys! #MathUP#ocsbMath ๐
On Remembrance Day, we come together to reflect and honour those who served with courage and selflessness. Today, we remember their sacrifices and express our gratitude. ๐จ๐ฆ #ocsbRemembers#LestWeForget
The grade 3s students in @MsMelDemers class @StLukeOttawa did a great job creating shape patterns with counters and representing them with number patterns! #MathUP#ocsbMath
โจ As we celebrate Earth Day today, we're reminded to take steps towards environmental sustainability so we can make every day Earth Day. ๐๐๐ #ocsbEarth#ocsbOutdoors#ocsbBeInnovative@ocsbEco
New record for books held by a paper tower! 101 before we started running out of books! The students did an awesome job applying their learning to make these structures super strong! @StLukeOttawa#ocsbSTEM
A great finish to Take Me Outside week! Extending our learning of food chains by playing Prey & Predator, making a colour gradient with nature, cleaning up the Capital and using scraps from Breakfast Club in our Food Cycler! ๐๐ชด@StLukeOttawa@ocsbEco#ocsbOutdoors
Students from other classes head out to prepare our garden beds and used some of the fertilizer we made last week with our Food Cycler! ๐ชด @StLukeOttawa@ocsbEco#ocsbOutdoors
Today, we used the Food Cycler for the first time! Excited to explore connections to the curriculum and beyond with our classes and Eco Club! โป๏ธ @StLukeOttawa @MissMarascoOCSB @ocsbEco#ocsb
Today we adopted this tree in front of our school! We studied it and drew diagrams in our nature journals. We had a lot of great questions about why the tree was changing. We will continue to study this tree as the seasons change! ๐๐@StLukeOttawa @MissMarascoOCSB #ocsbOutdoors
Super successful morning with @dduff77 (AKA Math Man) exploring division and fractions with cuisinaire rods! So much great thinking from the students. They said, โAll this math on the board makes it look like weโre in college!โ @StLukeOttawa@kimstiffOCSB#ocsbMath
Today, students created spheres with partners! They used the pan balance to determine whether they had the same mass, then explored fractions by testing whether 1/2 of the sphere would have the same mass as 2/4 of the sphere! @StLukeOttawa#ocsbmath
