make sure you ask that it is noted in your chart that your personal patient concerns are not being treated, ask for the patient advocate to explain all of your concerns and questions and try to be as collected you can be in times of crisis.

The extreme pain in my head was physically assessed (an attending grabbed my skull and neck) and then told me that I was only having a tension headache and prescribed ibuprofen.

The absolute best thing you can do is advocate for yourself.

It was extremely clear to me, that due to several factors i.e I'm a woman, on medication for CPTSD, and my emotions (controlled crying) that I was not going to be given the best health care treatment.

I can say that with certainty, as a CT and MRI were never ordered.

I had a stroke a few months ago.

As a medical professional, I handled it just about the best to my ability. I was emotional and scared but I was pretty clear about my symptoms and what was ocurring.

Due to my emotional state (crying), prior to the ambulance ride (sobbing)
