Today, Tamir Rice would have turned 24 years old.

He was 12 when Cleveland police shot and killed him within seconds of arriving on the scene for playing with a toy gun in a park.

No warning. No de-escalation. No accountability.

The officer who pulled that trigger was never charged. Never convicted. Never held responsible for taking the life of a child.

Tamir deserved to grow up. He deserved his 24th birthday. He deserved justice.

We will never stop saying his name.
