@MrNunesteach My local community is getting more money for Early Childhood/Daycare education, which I think is awesome, since it supports working parent households. :)
@mrdearybury This is cool! I’m impressed it works nicely even on my old phone. I’d love to see more personalized musical ‘instruments’ like this for students to try amid not being able to share instruments in the classroom right now.
Y'all gotta quit lying to young writers and telling them they need to write everyday. Nah, y'all need to go watch a movie. Listen to folklore. Talk to your friends. That's what's going to make the work sing. I think we forget that being a human is central to being an artist too.
Yesterday I shared a comic about the importance of carefully, thoughtfully choosing the words we use to talk to kids about their reading lives and choices. Here’s a comic about the importance of carefully, thoughtfully choosing the words we use about OURSELVES in front of kids.

@_chelleshock @thanatosfcker69 huge cause of deaths when power goes out in cold weather scenarios is carbon monoxide. do not burn propane indoors! if you need to insulate windows, bubble wrap is excellent for temporary situations. stock up on tap water in buckets for washing in case the pumps lose power.

Just taking a moment to recommend a book. 📖 I am LOVING Teaching With Love and Logic: Taking Control of the Classroom/ by Jim Fay and David Funk. It is a highly digestible fun read. It is expanding on what I knew about positive discipline and how to get it to /actually/ work.
🔦 My favorite presentation remote is $62 on Amazon right now. That's about half of what I paid for mine a few years ago.

Tip Tuesday! Got iOS14? Go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap. From there you can set an action to happen when you double-tap or triple-tap the back of your iPhone.
For example, I have set a double-tap to scroll down and a triple-tap to turn on the flashlight.
📑 You can store PDFs in the Books app on your iPad and annotate them.
As a fifth grade teacher, I loaded up the PDFs of my teachers guides and student books so that I could instantly call them up and write on them while mirroring my screen.

Every year I have “final affirmations” in which I tell each and everyone of my Ss what is good about them. This year it was done over zoom and prerecorded messages. I just finished and somehow it feels more important than years past. Kindness and compassion always wins in the end
