This is true for all research done at institutions with librarians/information specialists, but I'm ESPECIALLY lookin at you, researchers attempting to do a (sound) #SystematicReview
As a librarian supporting clinicians who are trying to understand the state of the evidence, I’m so tired of encountering deeply flawed systematic reviews in the literature. Please work with librarians, dear authors. We can help! #BetterTogether
@lisalibrarian Yes, the author shouldn’t have submitted the paper (does anyone teach publication ethics?), the reviewers (if there were any) or eds should have rejected, but the publisher stands between those parties and readers. It would never have been published had it been copyedited.
@lisalibrarian I understand the distinction. But it’s outrageous that papers go through production with no copyedit or proofread. The burden should be on publishers, not authors, eds, or revs, since publishers are the only ones who make $ in the whole ecosystem.
@carrieprice78 I thought someone did this to me earlier this week, but when I opened the email it was a lovely thank you for something else. #refreshing
