@VNGvisuals Gosh, I have not ever heard of either term, but after studying the picture for a few minutes I think I understand now. Also knowing what the term “luminosity” means was critical.

@teacher2teacher One way to engage students is to use call and response frequently during direct whole group instruction. Ask a question and even if only one student knows the answer, ask the question again and have the whole class repeat the correct answer.
@MmeLockhartLDS@SoniaCabell@yyCBEdu I recently read a text with my students about Stonehenge, and how the sunset looks on the longest and shortest day of the year. I had to build background knowledge about earth science, the calendar, etc to understand “longest” and “shortest” day of the year.
@teacher2teacher Use planning time at school to do tasks that either cannot be done at home or that you perceive as the most work. That way if you don’t get everything done while at school, you can save the fun and engaging tasks for home. Makes taking work home feel less like work.
@EliseLovejoy@thismomloves@HollyLanePhD Yes, my multilingual learners have difficulty hearing all the individual sounds in consonant blends, so we practice segmenting and blending those sounds together within the context of segmenting and blending whole words.
