@LeeBraganza I'm starting year 25 and completed the full set from EYFS to Year 6 as class teacher a few years ago. It really helps to understand the progression right through primary. I didn't get a certificate!
@branwenjeffreys Still teaching after 25 years. I've now trained as a coach and mentor to try and help retain staff at my school. Everyone has a different story and a different reason for leaving.
@branwenjeffreys@bphillipsonMP We provide breakfast for all children who qualify for FSM. It also gives a more gradual start to the day and free childcare for the parents who work at that time of day. I'm not sure how this would work for all pupils.
@MrAllington I was appointed as a Head aged 30. By 36 I was back in the classroom. 11 years on I have not looked back. It was right for me and the school at the time but circumstances change.
Today, children at my school heard our new, donated piano being played. They sat and listened to me playing instead of walking out as normal! That's the power of music in schools.
@thosethatcan Starting in Sept...chosen accommodation that is just covered by loan, will have to get a job in holidays and term time, currently keeping everything crossed that it works!
@Johnfinney8 Choristership gives experience of group musicianship and the discipline of rehearsal, procession, sight reading... it is often part of a broader musical experience. The repertoire is growing but doesn't cover a very diverse range of musical traditions.
@thatteacherguy_ Some private schools have planned for this as it's been policy for a while. They are not going to pass the full cost on to parents to make sure they can stay open.
@shadylady222 I moved schools after 23 years of teaching and it was hard to find a new post. I know I'm OK where I am but wouldn't be able to move. It's really tough if you need to move.
