@Ballsagna925@angela4LNCChair@StopAntisemites@LPNational Wow, antisemitic, using an exclusionist slur, and a name that inspires the confidence of 12 year old boys and perhaps 30-somethings playing video games in their mama's basement. You sound awesome and I'm totally going to take your comment to heart π
@davidwees For me- wear noise reducing headphones, wrap in a blanket, go somewhere quiet, watch something mindless
This is just what has specifically worked for my kids
@davidwees any age- looking at a photo album, play with a pet, have a snack, draw/craft, brush hair (only if no knots), quiet place
1-10: scratch n sniff, lava lamp, putty, swing
6-13 crowd: read w/flashlight, journal
Teens: music, doodle/adult coloring books, scented candles, paint
@Dsrussosusan Now I'm going to have to scour our 8th grade math book to see what language is used. Except for year 1 of teaching, I've spent the past 15 years ignoring textbooks! And I say "a reflection over/across"
@adam071373@yossy770 FYI the schools that had the lowest test scores were from the same Hasidic sect that endorsed Hochul. And the vast majority of Orthodox Jews on Twitter send their children to schools that outperform their public counterparts. Not sure who you're preaching to re: kids.
@DailyGrumbles@corviphobia@moneycatfinance@StrikeDebt Well toddlers do it all day long. "If I can't have this shiny new toy, NOBODY can!!" But in her case, the sentiment well tucked behind her claim of harm-by-exclusion in the process (aka no public comment period) and executive overreach.
@DailyGrumbles@corviphobia@moneycatfinance@StrikeDebt I'll take your experience at your word. I wouldn't think college is riskier though if we're talking fedloans. The max total undergrad is about 30k for a dependent student and 57k for independent. IME ppl outlay far more than that for a business. I'd be interested in data though.
@NateReal58 @BAPearlmutter@ztalpnielk@MikeNew19512115 Are you serious? The first screenshot from jta is about rabbis greeting Leopold *3* upon ascendance of the throne-- a politically savvy move considering the Holocaust was right around the corner. The other screenshot is completely fake.
@angela4LNCChair@StopAntisemites@LPNational Nice try playing it down but tweet is saying Israel *owns* our politicians & is not simply pointing out lobbying. It's just another iteration of the antisemitic trope "Jews control everything." Israel is a Jewish state. This is not about govt; it's about misinformation and hate.
@campaignyehudi@OMTorah I'm aware, and I qualified my statement as referring to the US, where minority status is a huge focus. What Americans see as Jewish here, they associate with worldwide Jewry. Ftr I'm married to an Iraqi-Syrian 100% sefardi and my husband and all our kids are white to the world.
@OMTorah I will add that Ive benefited from my whiteness like other white non Jews so it's not unreasonable to not be seen as a minority. Yet of course I've experienced antisemitism. But as we don't separate the Jew from the person, others can't seem to separate the whiteness from the Jew
@OMTorah If we're grouping by religion, there are others as well. The issue is that we're a religion& also a people, &as a people, we're predominantly white in the US. Bc whiteness is associated w/systemic racism, it's convenient 2 ignore history& roll with what we look like and have now
