This is not my usual post but, these children have been through so much this past year. With all that they endured, the survivors of the #UvaldeShooting deserve a moment to live as kids.
They deserve this trip. They deserve these happy memories and a whole lifetime of happiness.
Please donate what you can and share this with everyone you know. #UvaldeStrong

Did you know that comic books average 53.5 rare words per thousand, compared with an average of 30.9 rare words per thousand in children's books, and also higher than the adult average of 52.7
Let students read comics if it will get them reading!
I am so excited to drop these books off to my virtual students at their homes this afternoon. I hope they are excited to get started with book clubs as I am! @BCE_BlueJays
It was a great first day of school. I’m so excited to teach fifth grade language arts this year! I can’t wait to share my passion for reading and writing with my students!!
I have officially graduated from grad school with my Master’s in Educaion in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy. I also got my reading specialist certification as an added bonus.
Talked with a father from Austin ISD today @texasbookfest who said his son’s teacher doesn’t allow graphic novels. Educators, please stop this now! Reading is reading. Let children read what interests them. Inspire instead of discourage. Praise them for picking up a book!
