Today is #OrangeShirtDay, where we recognize the harm that residential schools inflicted on Indigenous communities and honour those impacted. We also join together in the spirit of reconciliation and commit to ensuring that Indigenous children matter. 🧡 #EveryChildMatters
Today we read the book "I Am Not a Number" by @JennyKayDupuis to lead into #OrangeShirtDay2020. We had a class discussion about residential schools and how important it is to learn this part of Canadian history. Wear an orange shirt tomorrow and remember #AllChildrenMatter
We've raised over $200 so far ... and it's not too late to give! You can make an online donation in the name of @bayviewglenps1 directly to the Terry Fox Foundation. Please contribute to the ongoing effort to eradicate cancer in our lifetime.

Working on our rough copies of our 100 word challenge. This is part of our morning routine. Every week a new prompt is posted and students need to come up with a story that is 100 words to go with the prompt. They will be shared on the #100wordchallenge website and our blog!
We have started our science units! Grade 5’s are learning about the Human Body and learned about the musculoskeletal system today. The grade 6’s are learning about Biodiversity and learned about the importance of classification.
It’s coming along nicely, but the @bayviewglenps1 outdoor classroom isn’t quite ready yet. We know you’re excited, but we’re still waiting for the turf to be laid and other finishing touches. Please stay away from the outdoor classroom and we will share when it’s ready for use!
