So proud of this wonderful bunch of knitters β€ Over the last term they have become independent, multi-tasking craftspeople who can chat, sing and even dance while knitting a few rows for charity ππ§Άπ
And thatβs a wrap for Knitting Club 2021 π§Ά Our students showed great community spirit throughout the term, which has resulted in a fabulous collection of items ready to be donated to Wheelchairs for Kids. #ConnectedLearners#ExpectGreatThings
We're going back in time today in Year One with our Toys of the Past Exhibition. A little surprise item has arrived, looking forward to seeing how students react to seeing a 64' Morris Mini and make comparisons to cars of the present #connectedlearners
Such a worthwhile day out @kingspark_wa with our Year Ones...they loved being in nature while deepening their understanding of a narrative text β€ Looking forward to seeing their imaginations come to life in the classroom #creativewriting#connectedlearners
Our Yr 1s are learning all about narrative texts this term so they went on an adventure to Kings Park where they were immersed in a story based on the series Snugglepot and Cuddlepie by @MayGibbs. There was lots of fun & laughter acting out the story in nature. #PlayBasedLearners
Friday feels after a trip to Kmart! π So excited that all of my Year One students can finally feel represented in their drawings with these beautiful skin tones by @Crayola π Can't wait for their reaction on Monday! #multiculturalclassroom
@davistanya24@InfantJesus54 You're welcome! The children loved it, I've never seen them move around the school so quickly. Have a lovely Easter after your first term back in the classroom π
I loved planning this activity for Year One children @InfantJesus54 to complete with their Year Six buddy. They searched for bunnies who had letters to spell out a message from the Easter Bunny, placing them on the hundred chart whilst cracking the code #Mathsisfun#primarymaths
Maths really is fun when there's a room full of happy children using their fabulous abacus' waiting for the next crunchy number! #learningisfun#primarymaths#placevalue
Year Ones were very busy this afternoon creating their very own place value abacus. There were no complaints when they were asked to crunch those Cheerios when they had shown each two digit number! #Mathsisfun#HandsOnMaths#ExpectGreatThings
@BooksDotty opened up an important conversation in my Year One classroom last year whilst reading about Dave the Dog. A new free downloadable book is available which aims to inform and reassure children about Covid 19 in a child friendly way. https://t.co/bks7HzMkWY
Such a fun time changing the lyrics to a childhood favourite from @spicegirls to revise our learning on crossing roads safely...thank you @RACWA for inspiring us during our recent incursion practising your Stop, Look, Listen, Think mantra #Stoprightnow#roadsafety@RoadSafetyWA
βMiss OβConnor the skin colour crayon is all used upβ opened up a wonderful conversation with my Year One class about the broad variety of beautiful skin tones in our world. We then created our own skin tone by mixing primary colours #skinisskin#Educate#primaryart#arteducation
After reading βFeathers for Phoebeβ by @RodClement1 my Year One Ss @InfantJesus54 were eager to compose their own unique song for their birds. Thank you for creating this heart-warming book, highlighting the importance of accepting who you are. @HarperCollinsCh#NurturedLearners
Knitting Club 2020 @InfantJesus54 is proving to be a great place to unwind. Children from Year 1-6 are so engaged, whether they are finger-knitting the borders, knitting squares or making pom poms for the corners of the blankets we are donating. π§Ά #PowerofOne
Such a fun morning in Year One! Ss were extremely engaged during their writing time, knowing a warm Milo was the end result. They also loved watching the time-lapse clip of their busy morning #authorspurpose πβπββ€
Our Year One children enjoyed a morning of reading and Milo to celebrate #CBCA2020. They were asked to create a procedure text on how to make a warm cup of Milo. Needless to say, there were smiling faces all around Books #MotivatedLearners#CEWADifference
