📚This morning I had the pleasure of beginning my day by reading, “Because,” to all of Aldrin Elementary School’s sixth graders! I loved spending quality time with this special group of future Hawks! #ReadAcrossAmerica2023
Astronomers! Here's a chance to take a closer look at the moon, planets and other features we've been studying. Nov 12 at the Udvar Hazy Center. Free event. https://t.co/S316UDSWvl
Didn’t do much tweeting this year, yet can’t overlook honoring an amazing group of 6th graders who officially launched from Aldrin today. To my first set of Room 211 6th graders — have a great summer! You have worked hard, accomplished a lot, and I know you’ll go far! 🚀
Hey scientists, check out the moon, planet & stars at Udvar-Hazy's free astronomy night tomorrow! Clear skies seem to be the forecast for Saturday night! 🔭https://t.co/8xQpdocYOX
Fascinated with the Sun, Moon or our nearby neighbors such as Venus, Mars, or even Saturn? Attend a free star party at the Udvar-Hazy Center on Nov 13 from 5-8 pm and get a first-hand look! 🪐🌖✨ https://t.co/8xQpdocYOX
Surveying this year's crew, mentor sentence lessons were frequently favorited. Physical copies of many of the books we've used though are not part of our class library. They've made such a difference in our writing skills though, it's time to remedy that: https://t.co/kkwtrAUe2A
Ever want to listen in on colonists discussing the Townshend Acts or making plans for battle? No, our founding fathers didn't have access to Google Meets, but to conclude our Revolutionary War unit we had fun "transporting" the past to the future and imagining they did!
Not be able to pass out Valentines physically didn't stop us today. 💌 We created our boxes on Jamboard & enjoyed the chance to exchange some virtual Valentines in a bonus session this afternoon. On the way, we learned some new tech skills too! ♥️ A fun ending to this Friday! ♥️
There's so much going on where it's difficult to find the time to celebrate recent learning, but I certainly smiled while listening to my historians today—so much powerful noticing & thinking expressed as we analyzed historical images with thinking routines #proudteacher#fcpsaap

Began reflecting on my #OneWord tonight as the final hours of break are enjoyed. Lots of possibilities brainstormed: fly, forward, grow, seek, renew, appreciate, progress, peace, recenter... we'll see what I finalize when my scholars complete this reflection activity this week.
2020 has been a quite a year, but definitely one with many memories. Here's hoping 2021 brings the best to all. Scholars, your new book begins tomorrow and as the wonderful writers I know you are, make the next 365 pages special! 📘🖊️ 💛
Then the math crew got their chance today — proportions and puzzles were no match for these marvelous mathematicians! Collaboration + communication + resilient puzzle solvers = another fun math day! 🔒🔑🔓
Digital Escape Rooms have been fun! Last Friday, we put our scientific knowledge to the test and had a blast. Even some challenging facts & puzzles didn't stop these persevering scientists!
There was lots of mathematical communication, collaboration and fun as we partnered up and played proportion tic-tac-toe in math today. Who says partner games don't work at a distance? 🎲 #POGinFCPS
