Last trip to the forest, each student found a special spot to put their flower as a gift of gratitude. Then we came inside and watched a slideshow; one student said “these are our memories!!” Another “Ms. Carleigh you’re gonna make me cry” -big feelings all around. ❤️ #lastday
Last full day of school and we added one more song to our poem & songs books! Then we went through and each picked a favourite one to sing to (or with) the class!
Today was our last Nature Journal day. Students were extra creative in their last journal entry! They are excited to bring these journals home after a full year of memories! #NatureJournal

Today we planted marigolds in the pizza garden as the ‘protector plants’. Then we planted some flower seeds in the pollinator garden along with the ‘plant food’ we made earlier this season with our food waste. #GetOutside#CreatingNatureMemories#PizzaGarden#PollinatorGarden
Today we did some more butterfly research and learned about the different parts of a butterfly! Did you know a butterfly can taste through its feet?! Too cool!
Hike & Boat launch was a success! Students walked a total of 2km today. They found the special location and sailed their boats down the brook! What Joy!!

Today we did a virtual walk through of our upcoming “Hike & Boat Launch” … Students used the map to find the shortest route to our destination. Then we looked at pictures along the way to help us all feel prepared for our adventure.
Had the best afternoon building boats! Students gathered supplies, followed & adjusted plans, solved problems, worked together, shared ideas, and used their creative minds! Excited to test our boats on Friday’s “Hike & Boat Launch” 🛥️ 🚤 🛶 🚢⛵️⛴️🛳️ #STEAM#IntegratedLearning

Today Parks Canada came visit and students had a joyful time learning how to camp! This year we have had many opportunities to build relationships with each other and with Nature; this was definitely a highlight for many students in our class! 🌳🏕️🌲
