🐺 Packed house for our weekly @EchoTrailMiddle FCA as students got to hear from former @LouisvilleFB and NFL athlete Brandon Dunn 👏 Powerful message on overcoming adversity and digging deeper as a team.
Today our students got to listen to their peers from another 6th grade team share their presentations and show off their hard work. Lots of grEaT things happening in 6th grade ELA!
Tic Tac Toe Wars 🏆
Students worked with partners to find text evidence and answer questions correctly before their opponents in this educational game of Tic Tac Toe! @KaraJo_Ammerman@EchoTrailMiddle
#ALM strategy “placemat” guided our collaborative discussions about critical problems and what makes them critical in class today. We love to see those collaborative discussions! @KaraJo_Ammerman
Trashketball day 1 was a success! Students loved getting to work in teams to find text evidence and then shoot trash into a basket to celebrate. 🗑️🏀 @KaraJo_Ammerman
On Friday, Team Determination Ss who earned enough HERO points were able to spend some free time in the gym as a reward for demonstrating the GREAT pillars in their classes. I love when we get to celebrate students for their hard work! @KaraJo_Ammerman
Who says ELA can’t be hands on?!
Ss worked with groups to plan & build working windmills that were able to create enough energy to lift weight. They worked through the “Design Thinking Process” with limited materials just like William did in our novel!
Students worked in intentional groupings to conduct a small research project about Malawi, Africa, the setting of our new novel. Tomorrow, they will be sharing their expertise with the rest of the groups to create strong background knowledge! @KaraJo_Ammerman
These @EchoTrailMiddle FCA student leaders take their role seriously—to love others well. 80+ staff members served breakfast this morning and over 1,500 Holiday Drive items counted/organized. So thankful for our Wolf Pack going into Thanksgiving break #ExpectgreaTness
Packed house this morning for our weekly FCA huddle! Special thanks to Isaac from @southeastchrist MSM sharing a great lesson on “keeping it simple”… to love God and love others.
Choice Reading of Chapter 4: students were able to choose whether they wanted to read independently, with a partner, or along with audio. Engagement was high and expectations were exceeded because we #ExpectgreaTness ! @KaraJo_Ammerman
ALM strategy “silent conversation” got students reading and responding to their group members’ inferences about our novel “The Lightning Thief”. Afterwards, we reflected on the activity and it was a hit with students! @KaraJo_Ammerman
