On this day in 1960, Ezell Blair Jr., Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond, students at North Carolina A&T University, sat down at a segregated lunch counter at Woolworth Department Store in Greensboro and asked to be served. Though they were denied service, they refused to get up. Their sit-in shaped the civil rights movement and sparked change in our country for the better.
