What an honor it was to spend the week at The Federal Club for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship! 🙌⛳️ The #golfcourse is absolutely beautiful, and the crew is incredibly talented and knowledgeable. It was amazing to see the hard work and teamwork that went into creating such an incredible playing surface for the players! From squeegeeing tees and hand-raking bunkers to blowing debris and walk-mowing greens, I got to experience a little bit of everything! A huge THANK YOU to the team at The Federal Club for welcoming me and letting me be part of the fun! @NewYorkGolfer13 We do this during our winters here in North Carolina. It’s very hard to change holes when ground is freezing so we precut 3 when temps permit. We also do this when we have a 36 hole tournament.

The Rod Myers Invitational tournament setup came EARLY for us on Monday! 3:30 AM start time! We were out there track mowing, rolling greens, cutting cups, and tackling everything else needed to get the course ready for the players. Everyone was locked in and getting after it! The Rod Myers Invitational starts tomorrow, and WOW… we’ve been BUSY putting the final touches on the golf course! Over the past month, we’ve put in a ton of work, but this final week has really brought everything together. From mowing, rolling, topdressing, hand-watering and cutting cups on the greens, to managing moisture levels to help firm and speed them up, there’s been a LOT happening behind the scenes. We also mowed the short-cut areas, sprayed fairways, finished up our fertilizer application from last week, edged and weed-eated bunkers, added fresh sand, installed pine straw throughout native and out-of-play areas, and even had some rough areas around the cart paths sodded. It’s amazing how all of those little details can make such a BIG difference in the way a golf course looks and plays! After weeks of preparation, we are officially tournament ready! There are many rules to #golf! I say the greatest of them all is to have fun and enjoy the company you’re with! Two Friday’s ago, I got to do something that felt a little surreal—I invited my dad, uncle, and cousin to play golf at the #golfcourse I help manage. I’ve been working in the golf industry since 2018, completely by chance. When I first started, I never imagined that this would become a career, let alone that one day I’d be welcoming my own family onto a course that I help take care of. My dad introduced me to golf back in middle school. My cousin was always either playing golf, watching golf, or talking about golf. And my uncle and I could spend hours talking about different golf course designs and architects. In their own ways, each of these men introduced me to a different part of the game and taught me so much along the way. Looking back, it’s pretty special to realize that something that started so randomly in 2018 has brought me to where I am today—and allowed me to share this game with the same people who helped introduce me to it. Sometimes you don’t realize you’re creating a full-circle moment until you’re standing in the middle of it.
