In Massachusetts, the climate crisis doesn’t just threaten the health of our oceans. It puts our food, air, jobs, and homes all at risk.
That's why today at @ClintonGlobal's meeting, I announced we'll take two nation-leading actions to protect our sea later this week:
The last update to the health and physical ed framework was in 1999. That's years before current high school seniors were even born.
This is great news, and I'm thankful for the Board's unanimous approval of these inclusive long overdue updates. https://t.co/25b3N8K6vM
Hey, teachers! 👋
Are you on Pinterest? So are we! Follow our CDC Healthy Youth board for more adolescent and school health resources: https://t.co/5SaV54hMAR #TeacherTwitter#ClassroomTips#EdChat
Unwind with us tonight at 5pm at Artists for Humanity. Learn about Hey Sam, our youth peer-to-peer text line, and make some art. We'll have a taco bar and an ice cream bar. Register on our website or just show up: https://t.co/Kwh4c1tjCm
Some states are trying to take us backward, making it harder for educators to teach inclusive, medically accurate, and age-appropriate information.
But that's not how we do things in Massachusetts.
We support all our students and the educators who work with them.
Students today are facing a lot. The aftermath of a pandemic. A mental health crisis. The constant pressures of social media.
That's why we're proposing updates to the framework that guides instruction of health and phys ed from pre-K to 12th grade.
The last time Massachusetts’ health and physical education framework was updated was in 1999.
Think about what we’ve learned – all the progress we’ve made – in 24 years.
The updates we’re proposing are inclusive, carefully researched, medically accurate, and long overdue.
Today is a very exciting day for #Massachusetts students. Comprehensive Social, Emotional, and Physical Health Education that is inclusive, medically accurate, and developmentally and age-appropriate is essential to teaching the #WholeChild. #HealthEd https://t.co/vn6ul4daJ4
School strike week 251. Today, I graduate from school, which means I’ll no longer be able to school strike for the climate. This is then the last school strike for me, so I guess I have to write something on this day.

@mrhealthteacher So great! Thanks for highlighting the power of Podcasts for our Ss I was inspired by @ScottAmpersand years ago to create a Podcast assignment. Here is what my students created https://t.co/yqw9uVYbkI.
