Teachers, I know it is hard to remember, but you must take care of yourself. I know we have limited time left this year to teach, it's hard to get a sub, and your kids need you. But you kids need you healthy - mentally and physically. You are worth it.
"Be the difference for THAT kid. THAT kid is the one that is off-task, uses unkind words & is hard to love. THAT kid needs you the most. You can help change THAT kid's life trajectory in a huge way. I was once THAT kid!" @DrP_Principal#whateverittakesforkids#maslowbeforebloom
@mraspinall Make yourself a "Atta Boy/Girl" folder. Keep any items you get from students, parents, admin, or other teachers that are positive. That day when you feel like you want to quit, go and read all the notes in that folder!
It’s a bittersweet feeling knowing that this semester is almost over... but let’s be real... it’s a little more sweet than it is bitter. Lol. One step closer to graduation! #EEC301S19
Y’all... I have been pushed to my limits this week! For one of my classes I had to create 5 lesson plans for THREE YEAR OLDS and teach Monday-Friday, then for another class I taught some third graders about geometry on Wednesday and Thursday. All of this while bartending Tuesday
euphoria when I got home each day. While I’m definitely not ready to take on a classroom on my own, I am so much more excited to have my own group of kiddos one day. Thanks to @TeamCramer3rd and @marchantteacher for sharing their space and their students with us.
Our conversations have such a significant impact on our mindset and our approach when working with students. By making simple changes to what we say we can promote a positive and safe environment for all. #mindflip#TeamBCSD#BCSDPsych#SchoolPsychology
Many kids come to school with grown up problems. They might be worrying about coming home to no hot water or electricity, if a parent will be arrested while they are at school, or if they will be evicted from their home. Learning will not be a priority, but safety will.
If you coach, teach, or have kids, what you tell them about themselves may become their inner voice. One comment you make and forget could become what they believe about themselves for the rest of their lives. Our words are powerful💪 use them wisely
Sit with your students, dance with your students, talk with your students, eat with your students, sing with your students, and most importantly, learn with your students.
Please add to our list!
I think so. A teacher should be confident in their policies enough to back them up. Students should be free and even encouraged to question things, as long as they learn to do it with respect. #EEC301SP19
