BREAKING: @ongov to announce (imminently) schools will go online for the next 2 weeks. As bitter a pill for some who will struggle mightily during this time, this will afford some needed time to upgrade safety measures, defuse the surge of Omicron.
@OCDSB I just witnessed @VRPSocdsb receive their 17th portable SEVENTEENTH! How is this right? @FindlayCreekCA needs more schools! How is this fair to our students?
@CraveCanada FYI: the description of @FriendsTV S6 E17 “The One With the Unagi” is incorrect. Monica and Chandler make homemade presents for Valentine’s Day not for their 6 month anniversary. They had been dating much longer than that at this point in the show. 😃❤️
When you're trying to get your almost two-year-old to stay awake during a walk around the farm! Video submitted by Alex Winters. Alex and her husband Kevin Winters have a cash crop farm in Finch, Ontario #OntFarmerNews#OntAg#FarmKid#ItsNotNapTimeYet
I agree! I will have a puppet in kindergarten who will be wearing a mask to “encourage” the students to wear a mask. But what if the parents don’t agree with mask wearing at that age.... and many many many more unanswered questions... oh boy
For people saying Ontario’s education system is “failing”/“terrible”, here’s how #OntEd performed in most recent @OECDEduSkills Programme for International Student Assessments (PISA). Yes, ranked #5th (equal) in world. See @CCMEC https://t.co/rxu5Frc5bC #OnPoli
The Minister and the Premier owe Ontario's educators an apology. We have been working anti-racism initiatives for years. I still remember the fuss when ETFO launched the white privilege project. To suggest that educators don't care and are a roadblock is beyond the pale.
Feeling scared to return to your classroom in the fall doesn’t discredit your love, passion, or dedication for your students.
. . . You are allowed to be human while still being an awesome teacher.❤️
I don’t remember the last time I stood in front of a classroom to teach a lesson. Reading a book to the class, sure. When teaching primary most curriculum is taught in small groups based on the needs of the students.
@AmazonGord@ctvottawa Teachers will be teaching online when the students aren’t in school. From what I understand Wednesday will be online for both M-T and Th-F groups.
Probably Phys Ed. I used to supply teach a lot for an intermediate gym teacher (in a high school) and it was a lot of fun! Maybe also Drama or Social Studies (intro to psyc, soc & anthro- in Ontario) as my degree was in Sociology. But I’m happy teaching in Primary. 💜
It's the end of the academic year and that means it's time for minister @Sflecce's final report card.
It has been a busy year for the minister, but a renewed focus on collaboration, self-regulation and organization will lead to greater success in the future.

Today @Sflecce started a conversation about re-opening schools that should have started with teacher and support staff leadership, school boards, parents and health officials all together, collaboratively, weeks ago! #COVID19
