What an incredible day of learning about, connecting with and being of service to our local estuary. Thank you #projectwatershed for teaching us about our place- past, present and future.
Reflecting on 2022 by collecting data. Ss were buzzing around the room sharing their ideas. They collaboratively analyzed their data-what was most common, least common, most interesting, and favourite response. Next steps-deciding how to present their findings #sd71
We looked at pumpkins through an artistic, mathematical and scientific lens. First we sketched, then we measured and estimated. Finally, we learned about the scientific method to explore the question, βhow many rubber bands does it take to explode a pumpkin?β
So proud of my students positive attitude and weather resilience as we applied our understanding of Newtons laws of motion to improving our bike skills. Making learning connections, having fun and getting wet.
Truth Reconciliation in Math. Ss first explored with materials to deepen their understanding of these ratios and relationships. Then we explored residential school and MMIW statistics. Data helps deepen our understanding of the world and its wrongs. When we know we can do better.
Kicking off our first science class students experimented with sports equipment reflecting on βwhat science is represented in these materials?β So much prior knowledge and connections as we embark on learning more about forces and motion
Our first day of @thinkingclssrms #vnps was a success. Students listened to each otherβs ideas and tried finding multiple solutions to the farmer problem. Thank you @pgliljedahl
Building connections with place and self. We explored our learning forest and found our first sit spots where we listened, looked and sketched. Can you spot them? #sd71
