Awesome things have been happening in 6th grade science!! Students researched an element on the Periodic Table and then designed a character based off that element. Their presentations have been amazing! 🤩 #ScienceSuperstars#OASbrave@OlmstedSouth
I started my Monday with the BEST cupcake I’ve had in a long time — if you know me, you know cupcakes are my favorite dessert. Thank you to my friend and colleague @MrsKirstenBuck for bringing in baked goodies and making my days (and belly) much happier 🥰
#OASBrave students performed beautifully tonight at the winter concert, our first since 2019! So proud of all the students and especially the soloists tonight 😍. Shoutout to Mr. Byrum for being the best band teacher!
A student led our discussion yesterday on Henrietta Lacks. While she wasn’t a scientist, Henrietta Lacks still changed the world of science and this student was SO PASSIONATE to share. I love teaching and learning from #strongfemales#OASbrave#futureleaders
Today was full of ❤️, 💡, & 🙏 @OlmstedSouth - gratitude reflections in Jackson's class, engaged scientists in @Ms_A_Matthew & Cooper's classes, reflection & workshop in @MsSarahBryant 's class, Team celebrations with @JenniferHester3 's 7th graders. #ilovemyjob#ilovemyschool
Do I geek out about cool-looking sandstone? You bet.

Students are LOVING exploring bath bombs. These are the homemade bath bombs we tested on Friday! How are they similar or different to the store bought ones? #BathBombs
At our second @OpenSciEd Community of Practice, over 50 secondary science teachers from across WA state shared their students' initial and revised models. The student work really helped focus and deepen our conversation on how we facilitate science sensemaking in our classrooms.
@OlmstedSouth Look at the Power of the Pen! Our BRAVE students shared their voices so the candidates could hear their thoughts. Thanks to their amazing teacher @mswadehesse
