Anthropology Graduate from @univofstandrews. Worked with (and for) #Quakers both nationally and internationally. Currently training to be a primary teacher.
I was at uni with @ManchesterSCITT yesterday, so when I got back to class today I was over the moon to get a #NationalTeachersDay card. ๐ฅฐ
Now I just need to work on how they spell my nameโฆ hehe
Today I was greeted with a box of treats from my fellow trainee at @ManchesterSCITT ๐ฅฐ.
They say itโs the children that make the job worth it in teaching, but itโs the colleagues too! โค๏ธโจ
A few pictures to glimpse the #teachertraining this #springterm.
So far weโve learnt more about: leading fun science experiments, pastoral support, and behaviour management.
Thank you to all the facilitators ๐๐ผ.
@ManchesterSCITT
Always a privilege to support trainees to develop their confidence, knowledge and skills at this early stage of their teaching career. #everyonecansing
Thank you to @ThePEUmbrella for delivering a fantastic session on #PE in #primaryschool.
We looked at: 1) the wider societal impact of regular movement, 2) the #NationalCurriculum 3) the importance of praising children for effort (not skill), 4) and played like big kids๐๐ฝ๐โโ๏ธ๐คช
Yesterdayโs art training couldnโt have come at a better time โค๏ธ ๐ผ .
It was brilliant to be creative (especially when weโre all a bit sleepy at the end of term).
It was also a great opportunity to recognise how important it is for the children to be creative in schools too!
I know that calling in sick as a teacher can sometimes be a hassle and stuff but honestly this widespread "must be in!" mentality thing has to stop.
Stay home. Get better.
A great day for mind maps! Thank you @BCOldham for such a productive training day: Adaptive teaching! We really enjoyed all the materials and discussions with our peers โญ๏ธ๐ง #SEND#SCITT@ManchesterSCITT
This week my lovely mentor had covid, so I had to teach much more.
I couldnโt have done it without the wonderful support of my placement school ๐๐ฝ. Iโm feeling grateful for the kindness and skills in the team.
This definitely feels like a milestone for my teaching journey.
Congrats to the @ManchesterSCITT#primary team who have made it through the first half term ๐.
Itโs been ace to learn with (and from) each other since September ๐ง ๐๐๐.

Thank you to @missjessrennie for the final @ManchesterSCITT session before half term ๐๐ฝ.
My nerdiness peaked when we talked about #primarygeography and how to chunk lessons effectively in order to allow children learn about the world around them ๐ ๐บ ๐
Weโre back at @ECSTGOldham learning how to teach English and reading with @ManchesterSCITT.
One of the best things about our training days is learning from colleagues on the course. Today @MrsPatidarteach brought this book to life (& how to create the questions).๐ฅณ #edutwitter
In PSHE Year 1 have been thinking about the feeling 'proud'. We discussed how it makes us feel to be proud and then we individually told Jigsaw Jack our reasons to be proud. Finally, our teacher gave us all a certificate telling us why she is proud of us. #shineyourlight
Today completes the introductory sessions for primary English, maths, and science from @ManchesterSCITT (in accordance with what we need to know from the #nationalcurriculum) ๐๐ผ.
Each session has been taught in a way thatโs bespoke to the subject matter ๐๐ฝ. Itโs ace.
Nexus have just hosted the second Keeping in Touch event of the year. What a fantastic group of teachers to be! We really canโt wait to work with you all from September. ๐ ๐จโ๐ #nextgeneration @NexusScitt @getintoteaching@EMTeachingHub@CranmerTrust
Hello ๐, I'm a new trainee teacher in Manchester. I'll be documenting and reflecting on the learning along the next year - and hopefully onto my teaching career!
