The 2022-2023 Writing Center staff is back at work! We’re working together to set a strong foundation for encouraging, supporting, and celebrating all student writing! @SalineHS@SalineSchools#HornetWriters
Super proud of these students for collaborating on this project. Shout-out to @JenDenzin for her wicked formatting skills too! May their writing and art be a pick-me-up in your day and week. There are some great pieces in here!
We’re thrilled to present the 2020 edition of the SHS Writing Center Lit Mag! A big thank you to all who contributed. Little did we know how relevant the theme “space” would be this year—but words and images have the amazing ability to connect us. Enjoy! https://t.co/U0G7vGfhI6
@JenDenzin and I couldn’t let the school year end without thanking our @SHSWritingCTR seniors! We would have loved nothing more than to celebrate you with cake and a lit mag launch party, but know that we are so grateful for you and your impact on the center this year! ❤️✏️
Happy #NationalDayOfWriting! @SHSWritingCTR is celebrating with writing stations: spooky stickies, 13-word stories, and blackout poetry! Join us during lunch today. We have candy + prizes! ✏️
I’m a little behind in my posts, but I wanted to recognize the 30+ @SHSWritingCTR consultants who came to our training on Aug. 20. This is our largest group yet, and they are AWESOME! We are off and running into our third year as a Writing Center! #sascompass@JenDenzin@SalineHS
The @SHSWritingCTR 1st Annual Lit Mag Launch Party was a success! A big thank you to @CarriganCafe for hosting and to everyone who attended. Special thanks to Julia Bentley and Maggie Lupton—the masterminds behind the creation and celebration of this beautiful work! #SASCompass
@SHSWritingCTR@FoundationSAS We are so thankful for the support @FoundationSAS has provided us these past two years—from getting our center off the ground last year to a trip to Washington D.C. for professional growth this year! Thanks for the air time this morning and for asking us such great questions!
Yesterday was our last Hornet Time with @SHSWritingCTR seniors! So, we wrote notes of gratitude and celebrated their contributions to our center. Some of these seniors were in our inaugural group of consultants, and the Writing Center is what it is today because of them ❤️✏️
@SHSWritingCTR is having a great morning at the #WC2P Writing Center Day, hosted by @MrAustinA2 and @cmodey! We are dreaming big and setting some short- and long-term goals for our center. Love this work! #SHSLearn@HornetPrincipal
@SHSWritingCTR is venturing into the Saline community! Thanks to Story Point for asking our students to help residents edit and write their life lessons. We had a very successful first session. More to come! #SHSLearn#SASCompass@FoundationSAS
Conundrum: There is no better way to understand students than to read their writing, but teachers are given too many students so reading the papers wears them out. Truthfully, I should look forward to reading their papers, but sometimes I am in serious avoidance mode.
