“There’s a fast way to do it. It’s like a pattern!” -D We explored @ctfosnot’s “Muffles Truffles” story problem to develop different strategies for dividing two- and three-digit numbers by 10.
“I can tell that they were an organized society because everyone has a job to do.” -A We are learning how to use primary sources while conducting research and drawing conclusions about early societies.
“What natural resources did they have? What are the landforms? How did people treat the environment?” We have been using a variety of resources to research our questions about the environments of early societies.
Array models, partial products, standard algorithms, and more! We have been learning different strategies for multiplying two-digit numbers by one-digit numbers.
Thank you to @mrs_cary10’s Grade 2 students for teaching us how to play 101 and Out! We had a great time talking about our subtraction strategies and developing our fact fluency while playing an engaging math game.
Spoons is quickly becoming our favourite classroom game! Today we created cards and played spoons to investigate multiplication and division fact families.
We are using mental strategies to match the x 10, x 100, x 1000 multiplication questions to the answer in order to make a pyramid. #masteringmultiplication
While on a community walk to find examples of how lights keep us safe, we noticed that some areas could use more light. We are writing letters to the @CityBrampton to persuade them to install stadium lights, street lights, traffic lights, and park lights in our neighbourhood.
We ❤️ learning collaboratively with our buddies! We explored liquids and solids as well as procedural writing while making heart and circular shaped crayons together.
