The Grade 5s @TDSBForestManor found that there’s a need for alternative learning spaces in the city of Toronto. One S even coined a term STREAM (Science, Tech, Robotics, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). We’re sure this term will catch on. @Ms_JWong @TDSB_ConEd

We enjoy #literacy skill practice while dancing with Hedbanz @TDSBWilkinson! Music got us moving! When it stopped, it was reading (& recording) made fun! Grade 5s noted hard/soft C #spellingrules. Grade 2/3s practiced reading & spelling words with r-controlled vowels. #SoR #tier1

Ss examined ridership stats from TTC to find out on avg how many people visit each station in Dec. After rounding together, (#’s are in their thousands), they calculated using area model and algorithm. How is this info helpful for the city and do these #’s change in the year? 🚇

Team TicTacToe-a fun way to show what we know! Grade 5s @TDSBWilkinson have been explicitly taught spelling rules for protecting short vowels (-tch/-dge/-ck). Why not make listening for phonemes to make spelling choices fun? In this game, everyone wins! #spellingRULES #SoR #games

Friday’s are for mild vs spicy math challenges where students can apply the skills they have been learning throughout the week. This week we focused on✖️ and➕! Students then compared their problem solving skills with their peers 🧠 Look at all their great thinking!
