This morning, so-called “save our children” protestors swarmed my vehicle. The level of hate was chilling.
It did not shake my resolve to stand with 2SLGBTQ+ kids & their families.
Calgary is a place of love & inclusion. Your hatred has no home here.

This isn’t a debate.
It’s a temper tantrum that violates the values of Canada and the Charter.
The people who are attacking LGBTQ2S+ Canadians and kids have broken social contract.
Period.

Bill Hogan commented during yesterdays press release of #Policy713 saying “it’s no big deal” referring to kids coming out.
I retired from teaching one year ago. As I packed up me desk, I also pulled down the obituaries of my students from my bulletin board - students who all died by suicide. Students that I knew and cared for. Before Policy 713 was implemented. Every GSA teacher around the province would know of a student who died by or attempted suicide. HOW DARE YOU SAY “IT’S NO BIG DEAL.” #resign
There are critical issues facing public education that require our immediate attention: outstanding concerns about curriculum, class size and complexity, teacher recruitment and retention, and our bottom-of-the-nation funding levels to name a few. /1
There are two particular newly elected MLA's who got in hot water during the election for a history of transphobic comments.
Neither has personally acknowledged Pride Month via their social media.
Is this "doing the work"?

14 years ago today, my boss and mentor Dr. George Tiller was assassinated at his Wichita church by an anti-abortion terrorist. Dr. Tiller dedicated his life to providing abortion care to the patients who needed him, and his commitment inspired me to keep pushing in the face of resistance. Today, anti-abortion violence has not diminished, but we continue to provide quality abortion care, honoring Dr. Tiller’s legacy. Dr. Tiller understood the importance of reproductive justcie and he instilled in me that same commitment. We will not back down, no matter the costs.
Happy Pride Month everyone. Here is your reminder that the beer you drink, the clothing you wear, the furniture you sit on, and the food you eat, more than likely are coming from a company that supports the LGBTQ+ community.
Here is a 29-year TV commercial from IKEA celebrating a gay couple. This was the first-ever TV commercial featuring a same-sex couple from a major corporation. The ad was released in 1994.
Out rage and culture wars aimed at people who support the LGBTQ+ community is what is changing in this country.
My opinion is that we should let people live their lives and let companies target whomever they want with their ads. If it bothers you, then don’t watch.
This isn’t being “forced down your throat” any more than violent video games, heterosexual love, and conspiracy theories are.
Spread love, not hate.
I will not vote for the @Alberta_UCP on May 29 because I support Family Medicine and public healthcare for all #Alberta
I am voting for the future of my family, friends and loved ones
I am voting for the future of this province

BREAKING NEWS:
St. Albert School Board has unanimously approved a new optional locally developed junior high course on 2SLGBTQIA+ perspectives.
This may well be the very first 2SLGBTQIA+ course developed and offered in Alberta's history. A truly ground-breaking moment! 🤩#abed
Smith today resorting back to her "Look I was a radio host" defence of the outrageous things she said.
Here's the problem.
The vast majority of things she said that have gotten her into hot water took place after she left radio and during her leadership race...

So just to be clear…
The UCP candidate who compared trans kids to feces is still enjoying the support of the UCP Constituency Association, as well as apparently the party and Smith.
Despite media statements she was fully cut off.
The UCP lie.
