I have found that the more I greet students in the hallway, the more they make eye contact with me... and the more they initiate a greeting with me the next day.

When you read a work of literature or poetry, you connect with both the author, regardless of their time in history, and each person throughout the past, present and future who has/will read the same work, and they become your direct family, the love between you true and mutual.
When someone approaches you with an idea, keep a few things in mind before responding:
They are bringing the idea to you, that says something.
They spent time deliberating & considering possible ramifications.
They believe in the idea, otherwise, it wouldn't be shared.
Schools in which teachers have more say have distinctly better teacher retention and celebrate much more successes. Administrators need to support the philosophy that Professional Learning should be teacher led.
