how people treat you when they think you’re poor or have no power, is who they really are.
I don’t care if you free yourself from the shackles of optics and performing for social acceptance and relevance, but if that is your praxis to life, don’t try to befriend me.
The streets of Gilgil are too crowded with angels.Sixteen young girls.Sixteen futures.Sixteen dreams that left home for school and never returned. Parents staring at phones that will never ring the same way again, my heart goes out to them. At school their friends trying to understand how laughter turned into smoke and silence.
We have seen this pain before in this country. Too many times.
Dormitory fires have become a recurring national nightmare followed by statements, investigations, outrage, mourning and then forgetfulness. Until another school, another headline. another set of grieving families. These were not statistics. Today, heaven is full of school uniforms. The hardest part about tragedies like this is that somewhere, there is always a question about preparedness, exists, alarms, response times. Plus whether enough was done before the flames came. SIGH. Children should feel safest at school.
So today, as the country mourns the girls of Utumishi, may we do more than cry. May we finally confront the uncomfortable truth that grief without action becomes tradition. Kenya has buried too many children because even one is a child too many.
The halls in Utumishi and the country are quieter tonight but heaven, heaven must be unbearably loud with angels. Rest in Peace.
Talk to your friends, get a bit of detail, go a bit deeper.
Some of them are regularly talking to AI and it's agreeing with their craziest ideas and you have to catch it mapema
1/2 I’ve been told of a lady I know whose nanny saved the kids from being stolen. School bus came but different from the usual, they said this is the one they’re using today because the school bus is spoilt. Nanny was hesitant n insisted on calling the mom to confirm with
This is Samwel Otieno from Kisumu West Sub-County. He has been defiling his 9-year-old daughter since last year. Ironically, the daughter’s cries consistently fell on deaf ears until her class teacher noticed, interrogated her, and raised the alarm with the school Head of Institution (HOI).
A quick response from the Kisumu West Sub-County Children’s Department, OCS, Holo Police Station, and OCPD, Maseno, led to a quick arrest of the suspect.
Yesterday he was arraigned at Maseno Law Courts and admitted to defiling his daughter in not less than 7 instances under the influence of alcohol. He is currently being held at Kodiaga Prison.
A school bus driver working for Grace Winners Academy,Kirinyaga County raped a child under 5 years on 6th of May. Her mom has severally visited the police station with the right documents (za hospitali) and till date no officer has bothered to listen to her case

The timeline is so dark and heartbreaking.
You scroll, you meet a case of a grade 10 who was kidnapped, raped and killed in Vihiga.
You move down a bit, you get a case of a grade 6 in Tinderet, Nakuru found dead in a maize farm.
You try scrolling, you find another case of a missing child.
We have really failed our children. It's so painful and heartbreaking.
Innocent children who cannot even harm a fly.
We need to do something as a country.
This is so wrong and unacceptable.
